Spell Crafting. As You Imagined It.
Arcs of Magic is a Sandbox Survival RPG in which you can create magic spells for anything.
Your meagre hunting skills and simple tools may be no match for the wild animals in the hostile forest you find yourself in. To make matters worse, you can only remember a couple of magic spells.
You must discover creative ways to combine and configure individual spell fragments to craft entirely new spells or to tweak the existing ones. This may be your best chance for survival.
Hunt wild boars to stave off hunger or harvest some berries and find out which ones are safe to eat. Build a wooden cabin or dig an underground shelter for a safe spot to sleep. Explore the seemingly endless forest around you.
Arcs of Magic features a full magic simulation engine. Combined with the familiar survival and physics simulations, it creates a singular new Survival RPG experience, in which you can experiment with endless different spells to better serve your character's progression goals.
A powerful visual spell creation system allows you to create unique spells in a few clicks, directly from the inventory menu. You can also take inspiration from the existing spells you can learn from various scrolls and enchanted objects.
The current version is a playable concept demo. Both its gameplay and graphics will be extensively modified in the following versions.

- Windows 10
- CPU: Intel Core i7-7500U @ 2.70GHz
- RAM: 8 GB
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce GT 645M / AMD Radeon HD 4850 / Intel HD Graphics 620 (OpenGL 3.3)
- Storage: 16 MB for the game itself, 60-300 MB for a typical save file
- Simply download the .ZIP file above and unpack it anywhere on your computer, then launch ArcsOfMagic.exe.
- The game executable is not signed. Your Internet browser, your antivirus, and Microsoft Defender may try to block the download or the execution of the game. Do not be alarmed! It is a standard protection for all "unknown" programs downloaded from the Internet. The reason I have not signed it is that the code signing certificate costs several hundred dollars per year, and for the moment, it just feels too much for what it does. I also believe that it won't be needed as soon as I get to publishing on the Steam platform. In the meantime: I have thoroughly checked the .ZIP file for viruses before publishing it, but I strongly recommend you do the same.
- The game does not save any data outside its own folder and does not modify your system in any way. To uninstall, simply delete the game folder.
